On her return, Norma got a job at St.Thoms's hospital, commuting up from Brighton where they found digs.

Not long after they moved back to the UK, Norma became pregnant.  As Don got a job at the RAE Farnborough, they found a newly built house in Cove, Farnborough.

Kathryn came along in December 1960. Norma and Don had only just moved into the house in the nick of time before the baby was born.

While she worked she continued her studies for the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technicians, taking the exams at Medical Schools when she was 8 months pregnant; Receiving the results when she was in labour!

For the next five years, Norma devoted her time to her Children with Vivienne being born two years later.
